I was never aware that putting up something like this weblog could get a little bit exhausting , but the result is quite satisfying. Everything had been taken care of except the site contents which reminds me that I have just finished the first step and it would take more to completely consider this as a fully-functional site.
Anyways, I have to start off by posting something about one of the most popular band that ever graced the nippop scene, Kat-tun, a J-pop group from Johnny & Associates.
Here’s a little piece of information I got from the Wiki:
The group’s name is an acronym formed by the members’ surname initials.
Similar to other Johnny’s groups, KAT-TUN is considered a Japanese idol group and therefore, not only sings and dances, but the members also act and star in dramas, movies and commercials.
They are arguably one of the most popular boy bands in Japan at the moment. All 7 singles released since their debut in 2006 debuted at Number 1 on the Oricon music charts. Their debut was marked by a tripartite release consisting of their debut single, “Real Face”, a “Real Face Film” DVD and their debut album. All three shattered records in sales.
I don’t really care much about J-pop due to my inability to comprehend the Japanese lang
uage, but all that changed when I got to watch the first Jdrama, Gokusen. But of course I have been a fan of the Japanese art and culture before I got hooked to watching dramas and even documenting about them.
Through Gokusen, I was introduced to most of the interesting personas in the nippon entertainment scene, including Matsumoto Jun, Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma and Ryo Nishikido.
One of the characters who awakened my curiosity is Kamenashi Kazuya of Kat-tun. He looked stranged to me though he looked like a typical Asian hottie. The truth is that, I only got to watch a few Jdrama and Kame is always there taking the lead role.
Later on, I got to found out that Kame is considered the most popular among the group, and is one of those rare talented people who doesn’t only sing and dance but act as well.
He is one of the versatile few who doesn’t only excel onstage but also on screen.
